The Concept & The Practices

The heart of the warrior

Now is the time to cultivate the discipline, skills, and heart of a Warrior. The Warrior represents a true leader, one who has done the inner work necessary to be a man/woman of their word. The Warrior  is one who has a high moral compass and lives according to a set of principles that consider the WHOLE; one who is fearless and firmly rooted in their connection with the Divine. To be a Warrior requires discipline, strength, skillful actions, and a wise and true heart.

Who is your teacher?

Frauke imparts her radiant spirit and joy for life in her yoga classes, and retreats.

She is passionate in sharing her knowledge to help others use their gifts, continue t

o grow, and be the change they wish to see in the world. Each class and meditation she

leads help us to connect and to cleanse. Trained in Kundalini Yoga, Yin Yang Yoga, Yin Yoga &

Mindfulness and  Aereal Hammock Yoga, Frauke offers an inspiring and powerful

combination of asana, breath, meditation and chanting that leaves students uplifted and

empowered. Frauke reminds us to connect and centre, to know that life is to be enjoyed,

and it’s a great message.

Valentina:

Valentina Parmigiani has studied and practiced yoga since 2005, she went throughout different styles: Classic Haha, Vinyasa, Jivamukti, and in 2012 she fell in love with Ashtanga yoga. She is always learning and exploring different modes to creates sequences and classes suitable for different body types. She is Jivamukti authorised teacher and Vinyasa Krama teacher authorised by Matthew Sweeney. At the moment she is practicing Ashtanga under the guidance of Petri Raisanen.

She loves Philosophy since the University and her favourite topic is the Bhagavad Gita.

The practices

We will practice specific asanas and Kriyas to dissolve feelings of separation and build inner experience of this infinite state of universal kindness from our divine essence.

We will integrate in our daily practices:

1. Master the Mind

How often are you taking responsibility for your thoughts, judgments and prejudices? Negative thinking can pervade our consciousness if we are not diligent and committed to a more positive and loving outlook. In yogic philosophy there is a term Pratipaksha Bhavanam—the ability to shift your thoughts to the opposite perspective.

2. Intuition

Another key warrior tool involves cultivating an intuitive mind. For example, you might consider how the choices you make impact the lives of those around you, including the Earth and even generations to come.

3. Compassionate and Wise Heart

Yoga sages taught the path of the sacred energy of love and compassion—the kind of love that knows no bounds. So often we can mistake attachment for love. True love is unifying the whole creation with your warm spirit of kindness, appreciation, and concern. The more we give love with no attachment, the more we receive from Source.

4. Skillful Action

What is the intention behind our actions? As the saying goes, it is not what you do, but how and why you do it. A warrior is centered, skillful and courageous in action.

Food -Eat fresh-Feel fresh

We will serve vegan food with some vegetarian options as well. Daily after practice, brunch and dinner will be served during the retreat, so your body will be nourished with lots of fresh prepared food in creative ways, using combinations of various textures and cooking techniques.

The cuisine is based on seasonal fruits and vegetables from the Islands (papayas, pineapples, bananas, avocados, sweet potatoes etc). We include a lot of nuts & seeds, beans and legumes (chickpeas, black beans, quinoa, brown and red rice). Additionally we have our own vegetable garden so fresh greens are close whenever needed (basil, coriander, carrots, spinach, salads, rucola etc). We bake our own spelt and wholegrain breads, for gluten free version we offer quinoa chia bread. Some dishes follow Ayurvedic approach where we replace onion and garlic with fennel, celery and mustard seeds.  Be prepared for colourful smoothies and vegan bowls, homemade granola, Ayurvedic soups  and so much more. The food you will taste is cooked with love and passion by your wonderful hosts Vanja and Bojan. You will taste that positive energy! Each meal is different and each dish is an experience, you will discover amazing combinations and will go home with a collection of recipes to add to your repertoire. There is no alcohol served nor available for purchase on location during the week.

The Yoga Yurt

It’s a circular space containing a very special energy inside. It is nestled in the garden, surrounded by trees and the stunning presence of the volcano. At the entrance you will find a chill-out area were you can experience the peacefulness of the place after your practice.

Yogasana House

The house is nestled right under the volcano “El Calderon Hondo” in the surf village of Lajares in the north of Fuerteventura. The village (easy 15 min walk) offers a few restaurants, cafes, bars and shops, and on Saturdays it becomes a local market for arts and crafts. From the house you have direct access to running, treking and mountain bike paths around the volcano.

The house is very spacious and modern, but still, it retains elements of classical Canarian building and every corner is dedicated to the well-being of our guests, including a beautiful green Patio garden with palm, banana trees and an herbal garden.

The swimming-pool is solar heated (temperature ranges from 21C in winter to 26C in summer).

Each room has a bathroom, private lounge área with a hammock, free wi-fi, and many of them with a kitchenette. Linens, towels (beach and bath), hairdryer and soaps are included. Washing machine is available.
