The Concept & The Practices

Give yourself space to replenish after winter and sow the seeds of joy for spring. We find ourselves energetic and inspired when we are truly connected to our deepest truths and heartfelt desires, when we align body, head and heart. But sometimes the hectic pace of life for many of us these days leaves us caught up in our thoughts and feeling a little unsure what we really want in life, of our true north. Away from our daily routine, out in the beautiful natural landscape of Lajares, under the gentle sun, with twice daily yoga and nourishing food, take some space to breathe, and dream, and just be...

This retreat will focus on how we can use our yoga practice to invite more joy into our lives, to live with steady ease, to take action form a place of peace and trust in all aspects of our life. Moving the body with awareness we release from tension and stress, so we transform stagnant energy into determination and agitation into steadiness and grounding. As the week unfolds, we reconnect to our inner compass, shed old layers of preconditioning and invite new perspectives into our horizons, so we can stay physically and emotionally well-balanced in daily life.

Yoga practice

We will practice in a very special place, a specifically yoga designated yurt – a cozy circular space with amazing magical energy. The yurt is sheltered in the garden, surrounded by nature, guarded by the stunning presence of the volcano. At the entrance there is a chill-out area were you can experience the peacefulness of the place before and after practice.

The week will blend different styles of yoga, alternating flowing active classes and relaxing  sessions. Meditation and yoga nidra complete the program. Vinyasa sessions will be a dynamic whole body mindful flow: postures are linked together almost like a dance, graciously and effortlessly moving from one to the other using our breath. Yin invites to slow down. Only a handful of postures, each held a longer time, which allows you to sit with your mind, breathe through the thoughts, let go. This will create space in your body, ease tension and allow deeper movement.  Combining both Yin and Yang elements provides a balanced practice and will have a powerful effect: you will feel relaxed and full of energy, while the mind is getting calm and focussed. A truly rejuvenating wellbeing experience.

Who is your teacher?

Sinziana has been leading yoga classes since 2014. She accomplished her first teacher training at the Yoga Loft Brussels and soon after she started exploring yin yoga, which opened a different chapter on the extraordinary journey of yoga discoveries. She's also a graduate of Sampoorna Yoga in Goa, India. Her invigorating sequences are led in a friendly, down to earth manner, and she has a humorous and joyful approach towards the limitations of the body and shortcomings of the mind. The Yin teaching is very dear to her, for its sweet and nurturing qualities; she introduced the practice to many yogis through workshops and regular classes. You can find more about classes and workshops she teaches on www.sinsanyoga.com

The Yoga Yurt

It’s a circular space containing a very special energy inside. It is nestled in the garden, surrounded by trees and the stunning presence of the volcano. At the entrance you will find a chill-out area were you can experience the peacefulness of the place after your practice.
