The Concept

What does harmony mean?

Harmony is when you feel happy. Harmony is when people are all getting along together. Harmony is when people are nice to one another. Harmony is the flow of life

Thousands of years ago, humans lived in perfect harmony with nature. Over time this harmony has been lost. It is impossible to disrespect Mother nature and to simultaneously embody true health and consciousness.

We choose Spring for our retreat, because it is an inspiring season where the light gets brighter daily and the colours get more vibrant and playful. We will walk and meditate on the volcano, soaking up the sun, listen to the birds chirping and become one with nature. That simple act can really help restore the balance and bring harmony in our life.  Let’s plant a seed in our personal transformation to get back into a state of perfect harmony.

We will learn to live in rhythm with the cycles of nature, both within and around us and plant based food and yoga are pathways to awaken the divine love that is hidden deep within each one of us.

Yoga, healthy plant based food and respect and connection to mother earth are forming the perfect triangle for creating harmony during your week in Fuerteventura.

All of our senses, perceptions, states of awareness – everything that is possible for us to experience – can be divided into 7 categories, each category is associated to a particular chakra. Each of the chakras represents not only particular parts of our physical body, but also specific parts of consciousness. The chakras are constantly trying to create a harmonious balance and this is why all our yoga sessions and meditations as well as our food will be focused on the chakras.

Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better. (albert einstein)

Your hosts

Frauke imparts her radiant spirit and joy for life in her yoga classes, and retreats.

She is passionate in sharing her knowledge to help others use their gifts, continue to grow, and be the change they wish to see in the world. Each class and meditation she leads help us to connect and to cleanse. Trained in Kundalini Yoga, Yin Yang Yoga, Yin Yoga & Mindfulness and  Aereal Hammock Yoga, Frauke offers an inspiring and powerful combination of asana, breath, meditation and chanting that leaves students uplifted and empowered. Frauke reminds us to connect and centre, to know that life is to be enjoyed, and it’s a great message.

Eva is our Hatha and Vinyasa teacher. Her inspiring classes  encourage students to move more mindfully, helping them to be more aware of their habits of body and mind. After many years practicing she initially studied Hatha yoga in Barcelona and later on Vinyasa and Ashtanga yoga in Rishikesh, the capital of yoga, becoming RYT 500hrs. She has a background in Reiki and sound-healing, especially with tibetan singing bowls which she usually love to play during her classes.

The practices

The practice of yoga helps to promote self-love and self-care by helping you to realize that you already have everything you need inside of you. The deeper you delve into the traditional practice of yoga the more you are directed to accept and love who you are on an essence level, rather than a superficial level.  Yoga shows you how to honor your uniqueness, and let go of the struggle that comes when you compare yourself to others.

The Yoga Yurt

We will practice in a very special place, a specifically yoga designated yurt – a cozy circular space with amazing magical energy. The yurt is sheltered in the garden, surrounded by nature, guarded by the stunning presence of the volcano. At the entrance there is a chill-out area were you can experience the peacefulness of the place before and after practice.

The retreat venue - Yogasana House

The retreat will take place in a peaceful villa situated in Lajares, a quaint village with restaurants, cafes, shops and a local arts and crafts weekly market. The house is only a short walk away from the volcano El Calderon Hondo, and it has direct access to paths around the volcano for walks and hikes in the reserve.

The place is spacious and modern, following the classical elements of Canarian architecture, with every detail conceived for the guests' well-being and comfort. There is a beautiful patio garden with palm and banana trees, a herbal garden, a solar heated swimming pool (temperature ranges from 21C to 26C ). Each room has a bathroom, private lounge area with a hammock, free wi-fi, and several of them have also a kitchenette. Linens, towels (beach and bath), hairdryer and soaps are included. Washing machine is also available.

Meals

Daily after practice vegetarian brunch and dinner will be served during the retreat, so your body will be nourished with the best fresh organic produce prepared in creative ways, using combinations of various textures and cooking techniques.

The cuisine is simple and... simply delicious!. You will enjoy exquisite quality and unique taste, as the food you will taste is cooked with love and passion by your wonderful hosts Vanja and Bojan. You will taste that positive energy! Brunch consists of salads, free range eggs, freshly baked breads, fresh fruit, yogurt, amazing signature granola, honey and jam, juice and coffee or tea. In the evening vegetarian multi course meals with starters, main and dessert will enchant your taste buds.
