The Concept & The Practices
WATER & AIR
Imagine quietly standing barefoot out under the open sky. Feel the sand under your feet, a breeze tickling the back of your neck. As the sun warms your face, listen for the sound of waves nearby. Breathe.
WATER is soothing, cleansing, sustaining, and nourishing. The water element helps us connect to our feelings and emotions. Water imbalances can manifest in shifts in the quality and amount of fluids in the body, including saliva, digestive juices, joint fluid, reproductive fluids, and blood. Mentally, an out-of-balance water element is associated with repressed emotions.
As we practice let us be inspired by some of the qualities of water like fluidity, strength, patience, determination and resilience. Let’s invite these qualities into our movements and flow so that we may be fresh and healthy and not become stuck and stagnant.
To encourage a sense of watery ease and flow, we will practice hip-opening postures, move through hip circles, and practice a yoga sequence that involves flowing, circular movements and continuous movement. You will focus on where you tend to hold tension or tightness in your body, and you will visualise water flowing freely through it to encourage relaxation and release.
AIR represents all forms of motion, including blood circulation, breath and thoughts. When in balance, air gives off light and a sense of buoyancy; when it’s askew, it can show up as anxiety and indecision. It may cause an inability to be present, or create conflict in relationships. An air imbalance can cause disruptions in your immune system or hormone production.
Deep, diaphragmatic breathing, ujjayi breath and channel-clearing breathes are helpful at stimulating the air element. In our asana practice we focus on agility, mobility and a balanced breath. Avoid rushing or moving sluggishly, but find a pace that is light and easy, with an emphasis on staying present in the moving transitions of the practice.
9D Breathing technique This session is specifically designed to support people who are facing the challenge of letting go, whether of difficult events from the past, feelings of resentment or judgment towards themselves or others. It provides an enriching space for those seeking to activate deeper meaning and purpose in their lives, offering them the opportunity to rediscover and reconnect with their authentic selves.
Embark on a transformative journey of 9D Breathing, designed to help you in the art of letting go. This immersive experience frees you from the clutches of the past, freeing you from the physical and psychological burdens that cause discomfort.

The practices
Food -Eat fresh-Feel fresh
We will serve vegan food with some vegetarian options as well. Daily after practice, brunch and dinner will be served during the retreat, so your body will be nourished with lots of fresh prepared food in creative ways, using combinations of various textures and cooking techniques.
The cuisine is based on seasonal fruits and vegetables from the Islands (papayas, pineapples, bananas, avocados, sweet potatoes etc). We include a lot of nuts & seeds, beans and legumes (chickpeas, black beans, quinoa, brown and red rice). Additionally we have our own vegetable garden so fresh greens are close whenever needed (basil, coriander, carrots, spinach, salads, rucola etc). We bake our sourdough breads, for gluten free version we offer quinoa chia bread. Some dishes follow Ayurvedic approach where we replace onion and garlic with fennel, celery and mustard seeds. lately we have been working a lot on our fermented dishes and if you visit us we will explain into the details the benefits of food fermentation. Be prepared for colourful smoothies and vegan bowls, homemade granola, Ayurvedic soups and so much more. The food you will taste is cooked with love and passion by your wonderful hosts Vanja and Bojan. You will taste that positive energy! Each meal is different and each dish is an experience, you will discover amazing combinations and will go home with a collection of recipes to add to your repertoire. There is no alcohol served nor available for purchase on location during the week.
The Yoga Yurt
It’s a circular space containing a very special energy inside. It is nestled in the garden, surrounded by trees and the stunning presence of the volcano. At the entrance you will find a chill-out area were you can experience the peacefulness of the place after your practice.
Yogasana House
The house is nestled right under the volcano “El Calderon Hondo” in the surf village of Lajares in the north of Fuerteventura. The village (easy 15 min walk) offers a few restaurants, cafes, bars and shops, and on Saturdays it becomes a local market for arts and crafts. From the house you have direct access to running, treking and mountain bike paths around the volcano.
The house is very spacious and modern, but still, it retains elements of classical Canarian building and every corner is dedicated to the well-being of our guests, including a beautiful green Patio garden with palm, banana trees and an herbal garden.
The swimming-pool is solar heated (temperature ranges from 21C in winter to 26C in summer).
Each studio has a bathroom, private lounge área with a hammock, free wi-fi, and many of them with a kitchenette. Linens, towels (beach and bath), hairdryer and soaps are included. Washing machine is available.
