The Concept & The Practices

In this week of “Yoga immersion” we are going to melt up our knowledge and create a synergy of teachings and disciplines to support all students.

We are going to explore the power of yoga as a life style tradition and how we can build up a consistent yoga practice with tools and wisdom coming from different teachers and with the inner guidance of meditation.

There will be also extra workshop according with the background and the needs of the group.

Mysore classes and group split would be an option If the number of Ashtangi will be the majority.

We require at least one year of yoga practice.

Who are your teachers?

Valentina

Valentina Parmigiani has studied and practiced yoga since 2005, she went throughout different styles: Classic Haha, Vinyasa, Jivamukti, and in 2012 she fell in love with Ashtanga yoga. She is always learning and exploring different modes to creates sequences and classes suitable for different body types. She is Jivamukti authorised teacher and Vinyasa Krama teacher authorised by Matthew Sweeney. At the moment she is practicing Ashtanga under the guidance of Petri Raisanen.

She loves Philosophy since the University and her favourite topic is the Bhagavad Gita.

Laura

Laura Miracca was a pharmacist for many years before devoting herself entirely to teaching yoga. In this way she could explore  a “scientific approach” to the discipline.

In 2014 she completed the first RYT 200 level at Samadhi school run by Jacopo Ceccarelli. Continuous research lead her to discover restorative yoga and to pursue the authorisation to teach by Audrey Favreau. In 2017, Laura attended the Yin Yoga Teacher Training with Biff Mithoefer, and in 2020 she joined Rocket Yoga Teacher Training with Christiane Terrone.

She loves the nature and explore doing  “down hill” with her bicycle is her passion when she is not jumping on he mat.

Food -Eat fresh-Feel fresh

We will serve vegan food with some vegetarian options as well. Daily after practice, brunch and dinner will be served during the retreat, so your body will be nourished with lots of fresh prepared food in creative ways, using combinations of various textures and cooking techniques.

The cuisine is based on seasonal fruits and vegetables from the Islands (papayas, pineapples, bananas, avocados, sweet potatoes etc). We include a lot of nuts & seeds, beans and legumes (chickpeas, black beans, quinoa, brown and red rice). Additionally we have our own vegetable garden so fresh greens are close whenever needed (basil, coriander, carrots, spinach, salads, rucola etc). We bake our own spelt and wholegrain breads, for gluten free version we offer quinoa chia bread. Some dishes follow Ayurvedic approach where we replace onion and garlic by fennel, celery and mustard seeds.  Be prepared for colourful smoothies and vegan bowls, homemade granola, Ayurvedic soups  and so much more. The food you will taste is cooked with love and passion by your wonderful hosts Vanja and Bojan. You will taste that positive energy! Each meal is different and each dish is an experience, you will discover amazing combinations and will go home with a collection of recipes to add to your repertoire. There is no alcohol served nor available for purchase on location during the week.

The Yoga Yurt

It’s a circular space containing a very special energy inside. It is nestled in the garden, surrounded by trees and the stunning presence of the volcano. At the entrance you will find a chill-out area were you can experience the peacefulness of the place after your practice.

Yogasana House

The house is nestled right under the volcano “El Calderon Hondo” in the surf village of Lajares in the north of Fuerteventura. The village (easy 15 min walk) offers a few restaurants, cafes, bars and shops, and on Saturdays it becomes a local market for arts and crafts. From the house you have direct access to running, treking and mountain bike paths around the volcano.

The house is very spacious and modern, but still, it retains elements of classical Canarian building and every corner is dedicated to the well-being of our guests, including a beautiful green Patio garden with palm, banana trees and an herbal garden.

The swimming-pool is solar heated (temperature ranges from 21C in winter to 26C in summer).

Each room has a bathroom, private lounge área with a hammock, free wi-fi, and many of them with a kitchenette. Linens, towels (beach and bath), hairdryer and soaps are included. Washing machine is available.
